Chimney Cleaning Services
Clifton Park Chimney Maintenance provides chimney cleaning and chimney
maintenance services to residents of the Capital Region.
Fireplace Services
For a typical fireplace service, Andy evaluates your chimney to determine if there is enough creosote built up to warrant a cleaning. If the chimney needs to be cleaned, he puts down drop cloths to walk on and set the equipment on. No creosote or soot comes into the room. An industrial vacuum runs continuously during the cleaning process. Chimneys usually have a natural up draft but if any particles come down, they will go into the vacuum not your room.
The fireplace flue is cleaned from the inside up. Andy uses a brush appropriately sized to your flue, attaching flexible rods, he scrubs each section of the chimney and the brush comes out the top. During a cleaning, the creosote that ends up on the smoke shelf and in the firebox is removed.
Fireplace Insert, Free Standing Wood Stoves
These systems are accessed and cleaned either through the stove, through the cleanout door, or from the roof down, depending on the type of installation.
